Sorry folks, but this is another post about LOST...
I rewatched the previous episode, and something crossed my mind:
A lot has been made of the fact that Ben was at a marina, wet and covered in blood while he was on the phone with Jack. Most people have speculated that this is because he either killed, or tried to kill Penny, Desmond and/or Charlie (their baby, not the already dead rocker/ex-Hobbit). Their reasoning for this is that the Humes have a boat that they sail around to places far and wide. But, I must ask: How long does it actually take to get from London to Los Angeles BY BOAT!?!? Sorry, but they're not at the marina, unless they just can't seem to get away from the salty air and the harbor chicks. It is possible that the writers had a seriously lapse in judgment in regards to time and space (which wouldn't surprise me, given this season), but unless that is the case, it is nigh unto impossible for Penny, Desmond and Baby Charlie to have made it to Los Angeles by boat in the time presented us.*
How 'bout that!?
Side Note: My local ABC affiliate has begun airing LOST repeats on Saturday and Sunday evenings in High Definition, which is rad, and I've begun watching them. They're at the end of Season 2 now, and it's pretty great to see where they show was, and how much things have changed.
*All of this is accompanied with the assumption that Desmonds realization of his memory of Daniel is happening in temporal conjunction with Jack and Ben's quest to return to the Island. I can only assume that's the case, since there's no indication otherwise.

It's because Desmond could have had that memory at any time, it didn't have to be in conjunction with what Jack and the gang were doing. It could have been weeks before they met with the crazy old lady.
Also, Charlie is really Charles Widmore when he was a baby. Penny is not really his daughter, she's his mother. They all go back to the island and that's were baby Charlie grows up to be the wealthy tyrant Charles Widmore and that is why Ben is trying to kill him as a baby.
HAHA! I don't actually believe that, but with this season, who knows what will happen?!?
My only argument against that being so is that Desmond seems to be in some sort of hurry to get to LA. Call me crazy, but I just don't see him taking his sweet time to sail from London to LA. My guess? It's a foiler, nothing more. They're using the marina image to make us worry for a few episodes about Penny and Dez. How is Ben even to know Penny is with Desmond? Had word spread that they were reunited? As of now, it's speculative. It'a all speculative.
In addition to your Widmore theory, I've also heard talk that Charlie is indeed Charlie Pace, and that he grows up to be Charlie, not on the island, blah blah... It's a stupid theory, hence my inability to make it sound convincing...
Characters have always had a tough time communicating with each other on the show, but its getting absurd. I mean wouldn't somebody ask Ben when he shows up late on the plane with a broken arm and obviously beaten up "hey, what happened?" Just like Jack was never going to read the letter from Locke. Which I was expecting to say something important like Don't come back without Aaron, or don't let Ben come back. or something, but instead was just sap. I've tried to see if there is a code or anagram in it.
But from what I heard ABC is starting to more aggressively meddle in the show because of slipping ratings. So, this episode was supposed to air later in the season, and this weeks episode was supposed to be last week's episode which was supposed to give more background to the letter.
That said check this:
The use of JL instead of his signature suggests the left over's of a type of code. As far as anagrams I couldn't find any complete message, but found the following words: "hijacked" "Jacob" "Hide" "Bad" "He Lied" and "He Killed me"
I hope nobody's kids are anyone else from the show. That said the anagram of the cleaning van was reincarnation. Which seems strange because for Locke it would seem like it'd be more correctly resurrection from what I thought is going to happen, unless Locke is/was Jacob.
