I saw some movies this last year. Some were good. Others weren't. Here's my list.
1. District 9 - Sci-Fi gets terrestrial, and it soars both visually and thematically.
2. Up - Did I mention this one makes me cry?
3. Up In The Air - I can very much see myself becoming Ryan Bingham, and it frightens me.
3. The Hurt Locker - Eric: you weren't the only one with sweaty palms.
5. A Serious Man - I long to be the third Coen Brother.
6. Fantastic Mr. Fox - Bliss. This film was like coming home after a long day in the snow.
7. Where The Wild Things Are - To say I didn't relate to this one would be a bold-faced lie.
8. Inglourious Basterds - If only the war had ended like that...
9. Avatar - On a purely visceral level, this film would be tops. But it has a so-so story, so it gets the Nine Spot.
10. Star Trek - Man alive, do I want to be besties with J.J. Abrams. Why? So I can work on cool movies like this.
11. Moon - Finally saw it just this last Wednesday. Mind-blowing performance, Sammy. Here's your bra.
12. Julie and Julia - I love me some Meryl Streep, so sue me.
13. Coraline - Stop-motion strikes again!
14. (500) Days of Summer - Too post-modernly cute for its own good, but I enjoyed what it had to say about love.
15. Taken - Whoa. Taken?... Yep. Cause it rocked. And cause I wanted fifteen items on the list.
D'ya wanna know what I didn't enjoy?
1. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - Pure, techno-nonsense.
2. X-Men Origins: Wolverine - Sorry, but Wolverine isn't that interesting.
3. G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra - I think that's what it was called. Talk about memorable!
4. New Moon - I actually didn't see it, but I'm sure I would have hated it.
5. I don't see a lot of bad movies, so I can't think of a fifth.
6. Surrogates - I completely neglected to remember this one. So, it shouldn't be a surprise as to why it's on THIS list...

fantastic! I need to see me some of these I missed, and thankfully avoid others
I love you Jacob. I'm saving New Moon so we can all see it together and make fun of it. Doesn't that sound nice?
I haven't seen some of those movies, but I agree with you on all the ones I have. Coraline was really great. Taken, I really enjoyed. Up may have been my favorite movie this past year. 500 Days was a little too cutsy wanna-be Annie Hall, but I liked what it said about love and relationships too. I don't know why I am sharing this, I guess I just miss talking with you about movies.
Also, was Running Club one of the movies you saw? I'm confused.
Okay, okay, okay. Just to clarify, Wolverine IS a VERY interesting character. Hugh Jackman 20th Century FOX Pseudorine can suck it. It was an awful movie. I also honestly keep forgetting that I saw Surrogates. Not even joking.
And Star Trek forever.
